In that spirit, the Sage 5 Lightweight Salt proudly features a blade crafted from CPM® MagnaCut®—a revolutionary particle metallurgy steel that offers an exceptional balance of edge retention, toughness, and the extreme corrosion resistance we require of our Salt® Series knives. The full-flat-ground, PlainEdge™ blade is supported by a high-strength Compression Lock® mechanism housed within a lightweight, open-backed handle with fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) scales. Molded in a high-visibility yellow color, the scales feature a Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for a secure, non-slip grip and are home to a reversible, deep-pocket wire clip. Like all Salt Series folders, the clip, liners, and all handle hardware are also crafted from marine-grade materials.
