Performance Rankings of Blade Tool Steels

These are some common tool steels used in knife production. The numbers for edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance are relative numbers drawn from various sources, including articles, reference sources, and various persons considered industry experts and influencers. The ratings are from 0-10 with 10 being the best. P/I stands for Powder or Ingot formed steels.
