The Spyderco Native 5 50th Anniversary C41BA50TH Sprint Run is a special commemorative interpretation of one of Spyderco’s signature American-made folding knives, created to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary from 1976 to 2026. At its core is a 2.95-inch CPM S90V blade, but this edition moves well beyond the normal production Native 5 with materials and hand-finished details inspired by traditional and custom knifemaking.
The handle features beautifully polished amber-colored bone scales, individually fitted and dovetailed into elaborate mosaic Damascus bolsters. Those bolsters were precision-forged by Ed and Martin Schempp and display a checkerboard arrangement containing 36 individual Spyderco bug logos. Because of the nature of the mosaic Damascus, each set of bolsters has its own individual character. Full stainless-steel liners add structure to the knife and feature decorative filework along their exposed edges, further separating this anniversary model from a standard Native 5.
Despite the highly collectible construction, the C41BA50TH retains the fundamental Native 5 design, including Spyderco’s trademark Round Hole and proven lockback mechanism. Each knife is finished by hand in Golden, Colorado and comes packaged in a wooden presentation box. With its CPM S90V blade, polished bone, intricate Damascus work, decorative filework, and unmistakable Native 5 platform, this Sprint Run serves as a fitting celebration of Spyderco’s first 50 years of knifemaking.
