Founded in January 2014, Dawson Machine Craft began its journey with precision spinning tops, crafted on a small Southbend metal lathe. This passion for machining soon expanded, and by 2016, a Mazak CNC Lathe was added to the shop. Flashlights were introduced as a collaborative effort with Mitch Lum under the Laulima Metal Craft brand, evolving into Dawson Machine Craft as of December 2023.

Every flashlight is meticulously machined, finished, and assembled in the Missouri workshop, with Mitch Lum contributing pocket clips and light engines from Oregon. All other Dawson Machine Craft products are individually crafted with precision, carrying the founder’s personal touch.
